How do I make .rtf files be displayed by default instead of being prompted to run or display?
It says "No such file or directory" below. How can I fix the problem?
I want all .rtf files displayed automatically by default. Here, "by default" means the files will be directly opened and displayed when I double-click on them without having to answer the question "Do you want to run XXXXX.rtf or display its contents?" I will never run .rtf files or edit them in a graphic environment. I have run chmod -x /media/matthew/Device/Testing.rtf
, but the following dialog box still appears when I double-click on the file.
matthew@matthew-pc:~$ chmod -x /media/matthew/Device/*.rtf
chmod: cannot access '/media/matthew/Device/*.rtf': No such file or directory
matthew@matthew-pc:~$ cd /media/matthew/Device/
matthew@matthew-pc:/media/matthew/Device$
matthew@matthew-pc:~$ chmod -x /media/matthew/Device/Testing.rtf
matthew@matthew-pc:~$ ls -l /media/matthew/Device
