Windows 10 Mail client Opens only half screen

0

My father was using a laptop with windows 8. he was using the default mail client which comes with windows 8. when he used to click the screen maximize button the mail client used to expand and take the entire screen.

My father upgraded his computer to the windows 10. Now after the upgrade when he runs the mail client. and he clicks on maximize window.

The mail client (the one which comes default with windows) opens in such a way that the screen is split vertically in half and the it only goes to its half.

This very confusing and annoying. I did little googling and I found a new abomination called "Task View" I disabled it and it still didn't fix the issue.

Each time he launches the mail client it only snaps to the left side of the screen and occupies half the screen.

The funny thing is that the menu bar (the one which has the button to close and maximize windows) is still full screen. but the UI of the mail client is just half screen.

I tried to troubleshoot and googled on the issue and surprisingly there are no answers just questions.
