How do I fix wine not finding existing DLLs for gecko?
I recently tried installing Cheat Engine on a fresh install of wine. The command line says that it needs gecko to be installed, so I install it. Then it says that it can't find some DLLs that exist in the gecko install. So I purged my installation, deleted directories, reinstalled, same problem. How do I fix this?
Linked here is a terminal session going through everything I have done so far. Here's a summary:
First, I update. Next, I download the Cheat Engine binary and attempt to run it. Then, I blow away the current wine install, then reinstall it. After that, I try again to run Cheat Engine. Next, I download the gecko installers and install them inside of wine. Then, I try running Cheat Engine a third time. Finally, I check the directory given by the errors and find the "missing" DLLs are there.
Edit: iexplore does work after running the gecko installers but Cheat Engine still doesn't work.
Edit: Ok, the installer finally showed up after minimizing everything and waiting 2 minutes. So... fixed???
