Ubuntu 18 waking from blank screen results in reboot (Desktop)

0

Coming out of blanked screen (Screen saver), I am no longer prompted for my password but a blank screen.

No apps appear on my multiple screen desktop other than the bar on the left. The bar shows (as an example) I have a few Firefox windows open, but can not get to them.

My desktop icons are absent and when I move the mouse to the upper left window corner it does not show any active windows. I go to power icon (upper right) to find the power button, Settings and Lock are no longer there. What appears now is a pause icon that when clicked is immediately shut down.

No warning just then the computer shuts off. Almost like it is going into hibernate, but when I power it back on, which I can do immediately after shut down.

No windows reappear, so I don't see the power down as hibernation.

This action seems to be more of a common situation vs the normal wake from blanked screen prompts for password and back into the system.

What setting did I mess up or what update altered my settings?
