How can I launch a browser from the command line, with a 'search' instead of a URL?

0

I'm using Opera (chromium based) and I am making a dmenu script to launch it.

A cool feature opera has is you can use a prefix to the search bar, eg w Opera to search on Wikipedia or d blah for Duck Duck Go etc.

Instead of having to write a selector and then manually place the query into the URL can't you launch the browser from the command line and it just pastes it into the search bar as if you pasted it in?
