Mac Host: Windows 10 not running any programs & Audio not working

0

I've recently downloaded Virtualbox to run Windows 10 on my Mac. Upon downloading a program I will be using on this, it worked immediately. However, when I shut down the virtual machine and came back to it, the file stopped opening, even while running as administrator. Is there anything I can do to make this file open?

Also: when in Windows 10 on my Mac host, I can't receive audio playback through Windows 10. What should I do about that? I also experience a lag when resizing the window, as it does not always adjust accordingly, causing me to have to play around with it.

  • You need to install the "Virtualbox Extension Pack" for full hardware support: virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads

  • @GabrielaGarcia I've done this. Programs still not starting, audio still not working.

  • If so, there's something wrong with your Windows installation. I've tried Windows in Virtualbox many times and everything works out of the box. Audio works with "Intel High Definition", obviously, why would you want the default legacy setting anyway.

  • @GabrielaGarcia I've just done a fresh install.. still no audio.

  • Are you sure the "host audio driver" is properly set? And the "audio controller" is set to "Intel HD audio"? And, of course, audio output is enabled? If your answer is affirmative to all this questions and assuming that the audio works properly in the host OS, you definitely have a serious problem to which, sadly, I have no answer.
