Triggering “lid closed” when changing dock / external power connection

0

I want my laptop to respond as follows whenever the lid is closed:

  • Docking - ignore

  • Connecting external power - lock

  • Otherwise - suspend-then-resume

In my sleep.conf I have:

HandleLidSwitchDocked=ignore
HandleLidSwitchExternalPower=lock
HandleLidSwitch=suspend-then-hibernate

Does the "lid closed" event reoccur each time when changing docking or external power connections?

Or in other words, what happens given the following events:

  1. External power is connected

  2. The lid is closed

  3. External power is disconnected

Would the non-external-power HandleLidSwitch action then trigger?

If not, is there a way to get my laptop to suspend-then-hibernate given the above events?
