overheating CPU in tower but CPU fan seems fine

What you see here is the report from my ASUS AISuite_II for my ASUS P8Z77-V LX with an Intel i5 3570K @ 3.40GHz.
On the right is a snap of the Sensor status with an overheating alert, on the left is the status after then being shut down for about an hour and rebooted. Is it odd or not to have the CPU fan speed more than double when hot?
If the fan is running fine then I guess it might be the thermal paste? The case was last opened (PITA) and cleaned in Jan 2017.

If you haven't even opened it to see if it's dust build-up, then that's your first step.

If my calculations are right, then that temperature is about 67°C - not that high, really. Why do you think it's overheating?

I think you can set the temp threshold for the overheat alert, they set it low by default.

In the last 10 days when I've left the pc on overnight it had shut down by itself twice, no alerts, so I started shutting it down at bedtime. Alerts have started up about overheating. I know opening it up is the logical first step, but I have a fractured spine, live alone, and to remove the side panel I have to pull the box forward and the rear wires have to be disconnected, then to do a cleaning I have to pick up this heavy tower. I don't see any control for changing the threshold. BTW, I also don't see any "email me when someone replies". Am I just blind too?
