Dropbox cannot find xcb

After a fresh install of Ubuntu Studio 18.10

Running dropbox produces this error message

This application failed to start because it could not find or load the Qt platform plugin "xcb".nnAvailable platform plugins are: xcb.nnReinstalling the application may fix this problem.

I tried the nautilus-dropbox from repository, the downloaded binary from dropbox website, and compiled from source. All of them produced the same error. libxcb was installed, but the program appeared to try to find it in wrong locations, or needed something else. Either way, there was no more error message displayed to find out what it actually needed.
