linux sftp download of growing files

0

I am facing a problem when trying to download files through a linux sftp client when those files are growing dynamically while download is in progress. sftp server does not detect the end of file, and it continues downloading beyond 100% preventing from the script that downloads the files continue its execution.

I cannot copy target files into another location due to a matter of file system free space.

I wonder if there is any easy way to make sftp server terminate the file download even if it is growing when it is being downloaded.
