access windows application from linux [closed]
Is there any way for a (preferably) perl script on linux to talk to a windows application. The app in question comes with VB code samples.

@jayooin: I guess I could use wine to actually run the windows app, and I have found Win32::CLR on cpan, but otherwise I am completely lost

well, I am using linux and seem to have the option of running the application either on a windows server, or inside wine. I sort of prefer the server. So yes, it is about remotely accessing that program to query and update values in a database. There is no database access available, so I must go through that app.
