  • What is the proper way of creating installation media from Ubuntu iso?

I am new to ubuntu and linux in general. I don't know any fancy terms like kernels and partitions. I will have to learn that on my own, but before that I need to install ubuntu on my pc. I downloaded and iso for ubuntu desktop on my pc, and then burned it to a ucsb creating an ubuntu key. Now I do not know what to do next. When I open the contents in my flasdrive, I click on VirtualBox folder, which leads me to a folder named Portable-VirtualBox, and 2 icons: Virtual Box and Virtualize_This_Key, but is says to "Exit Portable Virtual box and do not remove the key" when I click on them. I tried booting with my flashdrive. When I go to Bios and then to Boot tab, I select to boot from UEFI, but my computer just boots into BIOS screen again.

Where did you get the .iso for Ubuntu? It should not have anything at all to do with Virtualbox. You should download Ubuntu from here: ubuntu.com/download/desktop

And instructions on how to make a bootable USB are https://tutorials.ubuntu.com/tutorial/tutorial-create-a-usb-stick-on-windows#0 You will need to access your computer's BIOS at boot time, to tell it to boot from the USB instead of teh hard disk.
