Really wierd “device removed” sound from windows whenever I turn on my AC powered lamp
I have a setup with a laptop on a stand, two 4:3 monitors either side, and two lamps + two lava lamps flanking the monitors.
Regularly - but not every time - when I flick on the right hand side lamp, my computer makes the "device removed" notification sound.
I find this completely baffling, because the lamp is an AC powered lamp and is not connected to the laptop except through my mains power board/splitter.
Any ideas what could be causing this and how to make it stop? I'm worried that there might be some damaging electric interference going on but I'm not sure how to diagnose.
