Black screen while emulating buildroot built kernel on QEMU

0

Till this date I was only able to emulate the RPI kernel but I want to emulate BeagleBone Black & i.MX based firmwares that I've built using buildroot.

I'm passing the following command:--

qemu-system-arm -m 256 -M versatilepb -serial stdio -kernel zImage

This should at least gimme kernel panic but doesn't show anything.

Then I tried this:--

qemu-system-arm -m 256 -M versatilepb -kernel zImage -initrd rootfs.cpio.gz -hda sdcard.img -append “root=/dev/sda1”

Still the same thing no output blank screen.

I just get a black blank screen with the following output:

audio: Could not init `oss' audio driver
Running QEMU with SDL 1.2 is deprecated, and will be removed
in a future release.
Please switch to SDL 2.0 instead

What's going on I don't get it.
