Real time, cpusets, sched_setaffinity

0

I'm trying allocate a specific core to a realtime thread(sched_fifio or sched_deadline). while attempting that I've tried the following in the code.

  1. used CPU_ZERO() to clear all the cpus allocated to the thread

  2. used CPU_SET(7,&set). what I expect here is that the thread will get allocated to core 7. or does it set the "mask"?

  3. Used sched_setaffinity(); to allocate a core to the thread.

If I check on top command after executing, the thread is not running on cpu 7.
How will I achieve my goal?
