Can't connect to OpenLDAP

0

i have installed iRedMail with OpenLDAP managing the Mail Accounts. So far that works. Now I wan't to connect other applications to that LDAP and I'm trying to use a LDAP Explorer "LDAP Admin" for this. But when I'm trying to establish a connection it throws me the error "LDAP error: Server down!" but the server is reachable and online.

So far was my intention to check Firewall/Ports.

The required Ports on the server are open

root@vps01:~# ufw status
Status: active

To Action From
-- ------ ----
389 ALLOW Anywhere
389/tcp ALLOW Anywhere
389 (v6) ALLOW Anywhere (v6)
389/tcp (v6) ALLOW Anywhere (v6)

A server-side telnet on that Port is possible but when I'm trying to do that on my external Windows machine it fails.

Checking whether a service is listening on that port seems even to do well:

root@vps01:~# netstat -aplunt | grep 389
tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:389 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 238/slapd
tcp6 0 0 :::389 :::* LISTEN 238/slapd
tcp6 0 0 ::1:40960 ::1:389 ESTABLISHED 1381/python
tcp6 0 0 ::1:389 ::1:40960 ESTABLISHED 238/slapd

So what could be the fault?
