vs2015/2017 Cant add reference
Visual studio just will not let me browse for references to add. I've tried in both the solution explorer > add reference and the properties and it will just never let me browse for likable files. (The button is just missing)
Here's the Add File Dialog:
The overarching problem is that I'm trying to make a game in Angel 2D: https://angel2d.com/ and I cant link it. There is an example with it already linked but I cant take ownership of the files to modify them.

What type of reference are you trying to add exactly?

It's a vs project file if I remember correctly (I'm at work currently). Can only confirm in a few hours.

You can’t add Visual Studio project files as a reference that’s only valid for COM and .NET library files and C++ dlls. I can’t figure out the reason the screenshot looks like a phone.

It's in a C++ project. The example given has it already linked and when I make a copy in a different directory the link breaks (obviously). So I tried to change the destination and I get a "Microsoft.VisualStudio.ProjectSystem.References.UnresolvedBuildDependencyProjectReference" error. So I deleted it and tried to add it again but it shows the dialog above with no browse option

Just gonna clean install windows and hope that works I guess
