Setup a mitm proxy for a UPnP device
I am trying to figure out how a wireless transfer protocol (Via UPnP) functions on a Sony Alpha camera. I have setup a dummy SSDP and UPnP server on my MacBook which runs on my local WiFi and I can make requests to it using the app I am working on and it all works fine!
What I am now trying to do is debug the request the Sony PlayMemories app makes (In particular "Send to Smartphone -> Select on Camera"), however the PlayMemories app is coded to only initiate a connection if it's connected to a WiFi network with the correct format SSID (DIRECT-xxxx:NAME). I'm unable to change my router to be in this format because for some reason my ISP disabled DIRECT at the start of SSID for your router.
Is there any way I can set something up to allow myself to be mitm to the requests the app is making to the camera? I have tried the charles iOS app but all requests timeout with an NSPosixErrorDomain 60. I have also tried sharing network on my MacBook and giving my MacBook the correct SSID but this also fails. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
