Can't change language in Linux app running on Chrome os

0

I have a Google Pixelbook which runs Chrome OS and Linux in parallel. All is great, but one thing is bothering me - I have two languages in host system, which I can change via hotkeys, but it only works when I run native Chrome OS apps. When the Linux app is running I can only change the language via GUI in Chrome OS.

I could not get to the bottom of this behaviour: I've tried running localectl list-keymaps, but it returns Couldn't find any console keymaps, which is strange.
