I want to use regex extract on google data studio to take only the last 7 numbers form Event action

0

I tried open new field using the regex regex extract (event action,d{2}.d{4}) but the data studio can't really read it. I need the regex to return only the marked section.

Event action example

Then I will need to change the points into / so eventually I can sort it as number.

If anyone have an idea I will really appreciate it!

  • If it's a database it certainly has a data type for dates and as such you should be able to select it directly. What's the current result? What do you mean it can't read it? Why do you need to change the text format to sort it as a number? Can't you change the column format?

  • the data collected from event action so it reads it as text and not as digits or date, I'm trying to sort all this data by month and year , so eventaully I will get this report month year report.
