import matplotlib.pyplot raises import error

0

I installed matplotlib for python 3 on my raspberry pi 3 B+, but when I try to import it with import matplotlib.pyplot as plt, from the shell it raises an error:

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "<pyshell#0>", line 1, in <module>
import matplotlib.pyplot as plt
File "/home/pi/.local/lib/python3.5/site-packages/matplotlib/pyplot.py", line 32, in <module>
import matplotlib.colorbar
ImportError: No module named 'matplotlib.colorbar'

    Looks like your matplotlib install is broken. You would probably want to reinstall it completely.
